A drawn fish with arms and legs – this picture has been delighting Kate Bush’s Facebook fan community since Wednesday (February 22). The motif adorns the background of their official website. It is called “Fish People”. Followers of the singer interpret this as an indication that a new album with this title will be released soon. It would be the 64-year-old’s first studio work since 2011’s 50 Words for Snow.

“I just know that something good is gonna happen!” writes one on Facebook. “Great logo! How about a new album now?” writes another. The fantasy creature also adorns her real website.

Unfortunately, everything only seems half as wild. Don’t expect new music. Behind “Fish People” is Kate Bush’s own label, founded in 2011. On her homepage – somewhat hidden – there is already the announcement that her ten studio albums are changing distributors – so the “Fish People” matter is industry news acts. But: In a small note, there is also a note that her most successful work, “Hounds of Love” from 1985, will be reissued “later in the year” in the form of a “special presentation”. Anyway!
