Kate Bush was allowed to read the script

Nora Felder is responsible for the music in “Stranger Things”. Speaking to NME, she explained that “Running up that Hill” immediately reminded her of Max’s emotional struggles. “I sat down with the release coordinator and we got an overview of all the scenes that the song might appear in.” The goal: To help Kate Bush and her team understand the context of the moments. After the planning one was “nervous” but “hopeful”.

The production team knew Kate Bush was picky about how she used her songs. “We wanted to make sure that she was sent parts of the script as well as initial recordings so she could see how her song would be used.” The end is known: Kate Bush agreed.

After the first five episodes have already been released on Netflix, fans have to be patient again. Episodes 7 and 8 will be online on July 1st, when the second part of the soundtrack will also be available.
