German biathlon star has a famous ex-girlfriend

Philipp Nawrath was able to celebrate two medals at the 2025 Biathlon World Championships. His ex-partner also celebrated some successes in biathlon.
Philipp Nawrath finished last season as the best German. The DSV star finished 14th in the overall World Cup and won two precious metals at the World Championships this year: bronze in the mixed relay and bronze in the relay.
What many people don’t know: his ex-girlfriend is also famous. Privately, the police officer shared his successes with the Norwegian Karoline Offigstad Knotten. The 30-year-old is also a biathlete and also finished last season in 14th place – the second best Norwegian. At the World Championships this year she won silver with the Norwegian women’s relay team led by Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold.
There was no sign of the relationship on the two biathletes’ Instagram profiles. They kept their relationship rather private. However, the Norwegian confirmed the relationship at the end of 2023. When asked, she told the Norwegian public broadcaster NRK at the time: “We didn’t hide it, we just didn’t market it in any way.”
With a view to the World Cup at the time, she said: “In the finish area I got kisses and hugs. So anyone who wanted to notice would have noticed.” Nawrath didn’t want to talk about his private life at the time and only said: “No comment.”
With a smile, Knotten is said to have been called a “traitor” by the Norwegians because in the past she not only kept her fingers crossed for her male teammates, but also for her boyfriend. Knotten once responded to comments that she was cheering for Germany: “No, I stood up for Philipp and the Norwegians.”
In January of last year, Knotten said in an interview with the Norwegian portal “VG” regarding her relationship with Nawrath: “I have the feeling that it is commented on every day in one way or another. The boys today just asked: ‘Are the in-laws there?'” However, she emphasized at the time that she stood by it.
