Karmine Corp has qualified against Vitality.Bee with a comeback for the final of the European League of Legends tournament European Masters. There, the defending champion meets the previously undefeated French champions LDLC.
“I’m beyond happy,” said Kcorp’s Lucas “Saken” Fayard in a post-series interview. “It’s crazy that we reached the final for the third time in a row. Now I want to win the third title in a row too.”
Kcorp makes catch-up perfect
After Vitality’s first two wins, the series looked set to be settled. But then the defending champion around LoL star Martin “Rekkles” Larsson showed his fighting spirit. With a strong performance, Kcorp equalized the series in the following games.
In the decisive fifth game, too, the French team pulled away early and didn’t allow their opponents to come back. With the win, Kcorp not only made it into the final perfectly, but also managed the first “reverse sweep” in the history of the European Masters.
European Masters: LDLC remains undefeated
The day before, LDLC had already bought the ticket for the final against Ago Rogue. Even the representative from the Polish Superliga could not stop LDLC. In the third game it looked like Rogue could finally take a game from the opponent, but LDLC didn’t let that happen and thus continued to march through the tournament unbeaten.
In the final, there will be an all-French duel between the two-time title holder Kcorp and the French champions LDLC. “We know what we have to do to win,” said Saken, looking ahead to the final. “I am confident.”
