Karl Lagerfeld’s Paris apartment goes under the hammer

Karl Lagerfeld’s Paris apartment will be auctioned at a guide price of 5.3 million euros ($5.8 million), the notary responsible for the sale said on Tuesday.

The three-room apartment is located in a 17th-century building on Quai Voltaire and offers views of the Seine and the Louvre Museum. It will be auctioned on March 26th at the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The 260 square meter apartment has a 50 square meter dressing room and was completely redesigned by Lagerfeld – “in a futuristic style with a concrete floor and parts made of sandblasted glass,” notary Thomas Jousselin told the French news agency AFP.

Lagerfeld, whose spectacular creations and shows for luxury fashion brands Chanel, Fendi and his own label profoundly influenced the fashion world, lived there for about ten years until his death in 2019, according to the notary. (AFP)
