Kauhajoki’s Bear Basket has won the Finnish men’s basketball championship. In the decisive fifth final, Salon Vilpas fell with a clear score of 90–67.
Bear Basket escaped the championship in the second half of the match. The third quarter went to the home team at 27-15 and the last 24-14.
Like Monday’s final, Karhu Basket was number one Cameron Joneswho scored 25 points this time.
Last year’s champion Vilpas defeated 4-1 in the final series.
Bear Basket won its third championship in club history. The previous championships were from 2018 and 2019.
Last spring, Karhu Basket lost to the final series Vilppa with victories 4–2.
The Bear Basketball Championship was followed by 1,723 spectators in Kauhajoki.
Helsinki Seagulls took the bronze in this season’s Basketball League.
