Swifties want to make sure Ye doesn’t reach the top of the charts. The rapper reacts with incomprehension.
Kanye West doesn’t feel well treated by Swift fans at the moment. They would shoot against him, even though in their opinion he had done nothing to deserve this negative treatment. On the contrary: he would now even support the musician, which is why Swifties shouldn’t actually have anything against him.
What happened until now …
It’s no wonder that West and Taylor Swift will no longer be good friends after the 2009 VMAs at the latest. At the time she had won the award for best music video, but on stage West interrupted the then 19-year-old and announced: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all times! One of the best videos of all time!” Despite an alleged reconciliation in 2015, the rapper took another shot at the artist in his track “Famous,” calling her a “bitch” and claiming she owed him sex. In the accompanying music video, he also showed a naked wax figure modeled on her in bed. She took up this attack again on her record REPUTATION.
Swifties gang up on Ye
The swipes continue in various forms to this day. So it’s no wonder that many Swift fans have made it their mission to make Ye’s life difficult. A Swift supporter (@souvlore) now declared a “Swiftie emergency” via
What does one have to do with the other? If Beyoncé’s newly released track were listened to often enough, it could reach the top of the US “Billboard Hot 100” charts and would thus block the way for Kanye West’s VULTURES 1 single to reach the top of the charts. Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s record had already made it to number one on the global Apple and iTunes charts. He also moved to the top spot among the top daily artists on Spotify – until he alternated with Swift again.
Kanye West defends himself vehemently
The rapper doesn’t want to put up with this fan attack. He shared a screenshot of the “Swiftie emergency” tweet via Instagram and commented: “When I said I was the new Jesus bitch, I didn’t even think of Taylor Swift.” The 46-year-old is referring to a line from his new song “Carnival” and is about to mention that first to say that he wouldn’t lash out at Taylor Swift.
Further proof of his positive attitude towards Swift is that he supported her when she had problems with her former manager Scooter Braun: “I was on Taylor’s side when Scooter bought her master behind her back.” What his support actually looked like , remains unclear at this point.
In his Instagram statement, which takes many turns in terms of content, he calls Swift and Beyoncé a “great inspiration for musicians” and ultimately makes it clear: “To all Taylor Swift fans, I am not your enemy. I’m not your friend either lol.”
