2nd Best BSCYB Scorer
After Transfermarkt reported on Friday about a possible move from striker Wilfried Kanga to Hertha BSC, the Bundesliga club reported completion just one day later. As the Berliners announced, the 24-year-old Frenchman comes from the top Swiss club BSC Young Boys and signs a contract that runs until 2026. According to information from “sky” and “table football“The transfer fee for Kanga should be less than 5 million euros.
“We are very pleased that we have succeeded in making Wilfried Kanga a Hertha player. With his size, his physical presence, his speed and his drive towards goal, we’re getting a striker who is very well suited to the type of football we want to bring to the pitch,” Hertha sporting director Fredi Bobic said about the transfer. Kanga said: “Hertha is the club that wanted me the most and made me feel needed here. It’s a big club that offers me all the framework conditions to develop further.”

After top scorer Jordan Siebatcheu (26; for 1. FC Union), the Young Boys’ second-best scorer was also drawn to Berlin last season. Kanga moved to Bern last summer from Kayserispor, where he was eliminated at the end of January 2021, where he was still under contract until 2024. At BSC, the attacker hit the ground running, scoring 16 goals in 42 games and scoring five more goals. Kanga also started the new season with three goals in the first three games, but on Thursday the striker was only on the bench in the 3-0 win over FK Liepaja in the second leg of the second round of Europa Conference League qualifiers.

Bobic is said to have been looking for a new striker for some time, but the situation was not easy. While Stevan Jovetic (32) missed most of the preparation with muscular problems, Krzysztof Piatek (27) and Davie Selke (27), who returned on loan, fought for a regular place – both are actually for sale according to the “kicker”. Ludovic Ajorque (28) was last traded as a potential new signing, but the transfer fee from RC Strasbourg Alsace at 15 million euros is clearly too high for Hertha.
