Kane scores twice, Uduokhai into his own goal: Bayern wins against Augsburg

Second behind Union Berlin

Harry Kane celebrated his first home party with FC Bayern. The captain of the English national team led Bayern Munich in his new football living room with a brace in a safe 3-1 (2-0) win over FC Augsburg to their second Bundesliga win of the young season. Union Berlin holds the lead in the table for the time being.

In front of 75,000 enthusiastic fans in the sold-out Allianz Arena, the newcomer, who cost more than 100 million euros, only stayed cool on his home debut in the Bundesliga on Sunday after a hand penalty (40th), later the 30-year-old raised it (69th). It was his Bundesliga goals two and three. Kane, who had become a father for the fourth time just a few days ago, headed next to the goal in the 85th minute.

A week after the spectacular 4-4 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach, the Augsburg team were unlucky to fall behind through an own goal by Felix Uduokhai (32nd), but could have lost even more in the end. Substitute Dion Beljo (86th) only managed the consolation goal.

The Bayern bosses around Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge looked very happy in the stands when XXL-Transfer Kane delighted the fans in the Allianz Arena with a goal for the first time. After consultation with the video referee, referee Daniel Siebert decided on handball in the penalty area for Augsburg’s Niklas Dorsch. Kane, who was signed by Tottenham Hotspur, safely sank two weeks after his unfortunate home debut in the Supercup against RB Leipzig (0:3) and was high-fived by his teammates.

Maccabi Tel Aviv goalkeeper Daniel Peretz also liked Kane’s first taste of the goal in front of home fans. The 23-year-old was still in civilian clothes in the stands. Previously, his new teammates lacked brilliant ideas. The Augsburgers, who are often dubbed Bayern fright and who had even won two of the last five Bundesliga games against their big neighbors, gave the Munich team no room to get through thanks to a clever room layout and a high willingness to run. Ermedin Demirovic (27th) even had the best chance to score so far when he simply let Noussair Mazraoui bounce off him, but then twisted to the left.

Only a billiard goal calmed the Bayern soul in the stadium. Serge Gnabry, who came on the offensive for Jamal Musiala, who was injured in his thigh, served Leroy Sané, who was again very enthusiastic about the game. His shot was deflected by Augsburg goalkeeper Finn Dahmen via Uduokhai, then landed on the inside of the post and rolled into the goal.

Without Benjamin Pavard in the squad, who wants to switch to Inter Milan by the end of the transfer period on Friday evening, the Bayern Express rolled on. But the Augsburgers continued to resist, they kept order. Dahmen reacted quickly to a header by Gnabry (63rd), Sané (68th) flicked a wonderful ball just past the post. Kane, meanwhile, did better and poked the ball in after a pass from Alphonso Davies. Again, the star striker kissed his wedding ring. The late goal did not put Bayern under pressure.
