The professional cyclist from the Bora-hansgrohe team won the third stage over 155 kilometers from Lana to Villabassa after an attack from a leading group in the final phase. Second was Andrey Amador from Costa Rica ahead of Spaniard Jonathan Lastra. Kämna celebrated his first success of the year after a break of several months in February at the Tour of Andalusia.
The Tour of the Alps is considered a classic preparatory race for the Giro d’Italia, which begins on May 6th in Budapest. There, Kämna could start as a helper for Emanuel Buchmann, who wants to finish in the top three in the overall ranking.
