Hamburg-based trading and services group Otto Group had to change the personnel planning for its newly founded logistics company Baur Hermes Fulfillment GmbH at short notice. On Wednesday, the company announced that Kamil Christoph Kasprowicz will take over as CEO on June 1. Andreas du Plessis was originally intended as CEO. However, he “cannot take up the position for personal reasons” and has left the company, according to a statement.
The new CEO was found internally: Kasprowicz has been with the group since 2017, most recently as Group Vice President Supply Chain Management. In this function, the 37-year-old was “responsible in particular for the group’s logistics planning, strategy, innovation and group services,” explained the Otto Group. Kasprowicz’s successor in this post will be Raphael Maier on June 1st. The 39-year-old was most recently responsible for the Supply Chain Strategy & Innovation department in the group.
Kay Schiebur, who is responsible for Services on the Otto Group Executive Board, commented on the latest personnel decisions: “We are very pleased that in Kamil we have been able to recruit an extraordinarily dynamic manager with great expertise to manage the new company. I would like to thank him for his successful work in supply chain management and wish him every success in his challenging new role,” he said in a statement. “Raphael Maier is an internationally experienced logistics expert. I am pleased that we were able to convince him to move to Hamburg and I wish him all the best and a successful time in his new role in the Otto Group.”
