Kalvijn did not lie during the live final of his ratings flop The Talent Scouts. According to SBS 6 channel boss René Oosterman, the claim he made is correct. “This is bizarre.”
Kalvin is not all right. Not only has he been credited with two of the biggest ratings flops of the year, Avastars and The Talent Scouts, but he’s also been accused of audience cheating. Mediapark whisperer Tina Nijkamp called out this week to seriously doubt a claim he made on live television.
‘Is that correct?’
Kalvijn shouted in the live final of The Talent Scouts last week that ‘tens of thousands of people voted’, implying that he was presenting a huge viewing hit. But a day later only 273 thousand people turned out to have watched this expensive live show, so very bad.
As a former broadcaster boss of SBS 6, Tina knows that the number Kalvijn mentioned is not really realistic: “Is that right? With these viewing figures?”
‘That’s right!’
It really is true, SBS 6 channel boss René Oosterman says analysis channel from Tina. “I wondered if tens of thousands of people voted during The Talent Scouts final which only had 273 thousand viewers,” she writes.
She continues: “René Oosterman, the channel manager of SBS 6, just texted me that that is indeed the case. Namely 33,764 times. That is really bizarre for such a number of viewers.”
Calvin out?
Chances are that Kalvijn’s career as a TV presenter will be over after these two mega flops. Tina revealed earlier this month that he has been removed from presenting the new show Ranking the Talent. That’s what Johnny de Mol is going to do now.
Wise, thinks Tina. “Kalvijn’s career as a presenter has only been bad luck. Both Avastars and Talent Scouts failed. And Johnny almost never has a flop, almost only ratings hits.”
