Rally champion Kalle Rovanperä took part in the drifting EC series competition in Sweden this weekend. The race ended prematurely due to a technical fault.
“Unfortunately, our weekend here in Sweden is over,” Rovanperä said in a video posted on Instagram on Saturday.
According to the Finn, there were some problems with the exhaust system.
– I lost all the power in the car and the exhaust gases got through. The car almost caught fire, but luckily that didn’t happen, Rovanperä said.
The disappointment was said to be really big. The goal was to fight for “decent placements”.
– Thanks guys. They tried their best. Next time we will come back stronger, Rovanperä promised.
After this, the Finn already posted a picture of the helicopter ride in the stories section of Instagram, where he was sitting with his friend holding a can of tentacles.
– It was a crappy trip, but it was done, Rovanperä summed up the trip.
The video diary ended in Rovanperä’s native Jyväskylä, where he and his friends followed the end of the race on the computer screen.
Finland won the competition Juha Rintanen.
Drifting’s EC series consists of six competitions. Now there are two races behind. The next fight will be seen at Power Park on the 7th-8th. July.
