Rovanperä does not consider winning the Finnish World Rally Championship a major achievement.
Kalle Rovanperä23, has already been able to answer questions about his next season.
The two-time World Rally Champion announced that he will drive only half of the World Championship next season behind the wheel of Toyota.
Rovanperä has reminded rally fans that the rally has filled his calendar for many years straight. Now it’s time to draw some oxygen.
Fresh Dirtfish in the interview, Rovanperä wanted to dispel claims about himself.
– Everyone probably thinks that I’m going to drive a full drifting season instead of rallying. It doesn’t make any sense. Why would I drive? Why would I clear my calendar only to fill it up with something else? Rovanperä said and reminded again about the importance of free time.

Rovanperä said earlier that he would be interested in competing behind the wheel of a GT car. When? He couldn’t say that.
– There is no precise plan for it. In the GT4 series, Toyota has the Supra. In addition, the Toyota GR010 Hybrid is also an option, Rovanperä told Dirtfish.
The latter has been masterfully successful in, for example, the Le Mans 24-hour classic race.
Rovanperä has not yet reached the highest podium in Jyväskylä in his World Rally Championship career. He rejected the related argument as well.
– Many people think that winning the Finnish World Rally Championship would be more important to me than it actually is.
– Of course, it would have been a nice thing in the season that ended. But I’m not really disappointed that I didn’t win. It would be a great achievement, but not the biggest and greatest of all.
The last driver to win the Finnish competition in the rally’s king class is Esapekka Lappi from the 2017 season.
