Kalle Rovanperä excels at commenting – comments on the superior management: “One of the best driving days of his career”

Toyota’s young Finnish star Kalle Rovanperä was in a stunning draw on the opening day of the World Rally Championship in Croatia on Friday.

Rovanperä gassed six base times and leads the race by more than a minute after Friday’s eight-hurry. In the rainy and muddy stretches, many of the top drivers collapsed out and the tire breaks also tormented them. However, Rovanperä drove cleanly without mistakes.

– It was definitely one of the best driving days of my career. All in all, a really great day. There was more fog in the afternoon than in the morning, but I just tried to go to the gas bottom. I certainly got some time from there too, Rovanperä summed up.

– Driving came with its own weight. When the basic pace is good, you can determine for yourself how much risk to take.

Toyota’s Finnish driver could not get there easily either.

– The conditions were really difficult. I tried to save on tires and choose which cuts over time and which ones I didn’t. It took quite a bit to drive along a dirty road, which was quite an exciting task, Rovanperä stated.

There will be eight special exams on Saturday in the program, but the conditions should be a degree easier. The weather forecast promises a dry and relatively warm weather for Saturday.

– That wouldn’t have bothered, even if the rain had continued when the good times were so easy. On the other hand, even in dry weather, our pace should be in order, at least based on the times of the test, Rovanperä said.

– On the other hand, tomorrow is difficult when you have to focus and try to keep up the good pace, but you can’t make mistakes. You just have to avoid problems. Sometimes you have to be able to drive sensibly.
