Dresden/Kaiserslautern (dpa) – drunk with joy, the Palatinate heroes ignited the next level of escalation in the team bus.
“Never again 3rd league” sang Zimmer and Co. after the promotion coup, while some dynamo firecrackers disturbed the starry sky of Dresden. “The boys deserve it. I asked my team to hold back the celebrations in the stadium a little, we’ll let the cow fly on the bus,” said coach Dirk Schuster from 1. FC Kaiserslautern after the 2-0 (0-0 ) in the relegation second leg at the press conference, while the disco bass from the FCK dressing room was clearly audible.
After the final whistle, the Red Devils ran into the fan corner, jumped and danced with their supporters and downed the first beer on the pitch at the corner flag, while the fans yelled: “Lautern is the hottest club in the world.”
Thanks also to the ex-coach
And midfield player Mike Wunderlich made it clear where the club wants to go: “The club doesn’t belong in the 3rd division and also not in the 2nd division. We’ve at least taken the first step,” said the veteran and thanked him shortly before ex-coach Marco Antwerpen, who was released from relegation. “The coach did a great job. And so does the new coach. The absolute highlight of my career when you’re promoted to the second division at the age of 36.”
