His senior year was like a Hollywood drama. Now Christian Kahrmann (49) is finally experiencing his very personal happy ending.
In March 2021, the actor fell seriously ill with Covid-19 and fought death in an artificial coma for 17 days. Kahrman survived. But when he woke up again, the former “Lindenstrasse” star found out about his father’s Corona death. A little later his mother died of cancer. It took him a full year to regain his strength.
“Now I finally feel fit again,” he says to BamS.
Part of the recovery is that Christian Kahrmann is still being examined by his doctors at regular intervals.
He no longer needs special physiotherapy. “I’m doing a lot of yoga at the moment and I’m slowly starting to exercise again. I still have to hold back with more strenuous disciplines. Otherwise, normal life and work are my best therapy.”
Because now Christian Kahrmann is back professionally. He has just shot a historical film in Prague for Netflix. He is currently in front of the camera on behalf of ARD-Degeto in Berlin with colleagues such as David Kross (31) and Detlev Buck (59) for the series “Asbestos”.
Directed by “4 Blocks” star Kida Khodr Ramadan (45). “I finally feel fit enough to work again. It’s a wonderful experience and exactly the sense of accomplishment I need after last year,” says Kahrmann. “Finally, a little normality is returning to my life.”
The traces on Kahrmann’s soul will remain for a while. “Besides the scars that you can see on my face, my experiences don’t disappear at the touch of a button. But time heals all wounds, at least little by little.”
Kahrmann also got professional support for his struggle back to life. “I can only recommend everyone to accept psychological help. I can only advise against just going on living as if nothing had happened. You can’t deal with a fate like that alone.”

What has Christian Kahrmann learned about himself in the last year? “I was amazed from a bird’s eye view of how much power people can develop. Maybe I made it because I kept my faith and patience that eventually everything will be fine.”
