KaasPop moved to September: “Failed to find another place”

The Alkmaar KaasPop will be held on September 17 this year. The intention was that music lovers could indulge themselves at the Olympiaweg this Easter weekend, but because the event site is used as a GGD vaccination street, that was not possible.

The vaccination street would actually remain on the event site until April, so at first it seemed that KaasPop could continue as usual. But the contract between the municipality of Alkmaar and the GGD has been extended until August and it was not possible to find another suitable location.

“As an organization, we have been working until the last minute to get a worthy alternative festival site, but unfortunately we did not succeed,” the organization reported earlier. It was even taken into account that KaasPop would not take place at all this year.

Services

Peter Wouters, co-organizer of the event, now informs NH Nieuws that ‘actually only the event site is suitable’ for a small-scale festival such as KaasPop. “All amenities are there.”

It is not yet known what the line-up will look like in September. “We have asked the artists with whom we were in consultation and some of them are not possible anyway. We hope to get some more clarity in the coming weeks,” says Peter.

People who already bought a ticket for the event can still use it in September.
