Queen Margaret of Denmark has ruled Denmark for 52 years, but is handing over her power today to her son, Crown Prince Frederik.
Sweden’s King Karle Kustaa remembered Margareeta with a letter on Sunday. Hovi published the letter on his Instagram account.
– Your Majesty, my dear cousin Daisy! As you relinquish your position as Queen of Denmark today, I would like to express my warmest thanks for our good cooperation over the years. A new kind of role awaits you now, but our friendship remains cordial and strong.
– As the queen of Denmark, you have guaranteed that there is closeness and affection between our countries and our courts. I want to thank you especially for this. My family and I wish you happiness and prosperity for the future on this historic day.
