King Karle XVI Kustaa has celebrated his birthday today on May Day. He turned 77 years old.

Kaarle Kustaa will soon have even bigger cookies ahead of him, because in September he will be celebrating his fifty years in power. Kaarle Kustaa is the monarch who has ruled Sweden the longest so far.
Kustaa Vaasa 500 years have passed since the coronation and at the same time the founding of the entire Swedish state. This is celebrated on Sweden’s national day on June 6.
