Finnish striker Kaapo Kakko has signed an extension contract with the NHL club New York Rangers, the club announces.
Kakko, 21, signed a two-year contract extension with the club. By the editor of The Athletic Arthur Staple according to Kako’s base salary per season is 2.1 million dollars.

Rangers booked Kako in the second round of booking in the 2019 booking event. Kakko moved to Rangers from Turku Palloseura immediately for the 2019–2020 season and has played in the club for a total of three seasons.
Last season, the Finn played 43 regular season matches with an output of 7+11. In the playoffs Kakko played 19 matches and scored 2+3.
Kako’s most effective season in the NHL is his 2019-2020 scoring season. At that time, the Finn scored 10+23 power points in 66 regular season games.
Kakko rose to the attention of the hockey people in TPS in the 2018–2019 season, when he scored 22 goals in 45 SM league regular season matches.
Kakko has won World Championship gold in Leijon in the spring of 2019. In the same season, he celebrated the Under-20 World Championship gold.
