K-pop fans fear for their festival before Rammstein’s Frankfurt concert

The Kpop Lux Festival takes place at the same time & in almost the same place as the Rammstein gig.

Rammstein’s stadium tour has made headlines in recent months due to the allegations of abuse against Till Lindemann. Now a K-pop festival is causing renewed excitement all around Lindemann and band. Since the festival is scheduled to take place on the site next to the stadium concert in Frankfurt, K-pop fans are afraid of possible conflicts. Now the stadium operator is speaking out about the unrest.

K-Pop meets Rammstein

After a show was subsequently added, Rammstein will perform at Deutsche Bank Park on July 11th and 12th, 2024. The Kpop Lux Festival will also take place there from July 12th to 13th. Fans of Korean pop music took to Instagram to share their concerns about the organization. One person writes: “It’s not really safe to have 40,000 people inside and several thousand outside at a concert.” Another fan worries about the volume caused by Rammstein: “Rammstein has pyro, so the roof of the arena will be open and it gets really loud. You can hear that from miles away.”

“You hear surprisingly little”

In order to smooth things over and reassure the fans, the stadium operator, Patrick Meyer, is now contacting the “General Newspaper” to say: “It is quite astonishing how little sound from the stadium can actually be heard directly in the neighborhood.” He also says that two concerts have been tried out at the same time on the site several times in the past. When it comes to the number of visitors, the operator is also still relaxed – as a manageable number of tickets have been sold for the K-Pop festival so far.
