In Thursday’s only SM league match, JYP defeated Pelicans 3–2 in overtime. The winning goal was scored by a Canadian striker Kyle Platzer.
However, the opening of the goal account had to wait more than halfway through the match.
The people from Jyväskylä led the match Juuso Puustisen and By Joshua Tevez goals at the beginning of the third period 2–0. Pelicans opened their scoring account after 54 minutes by Peter Andersson with the first hit of the season.
Joni Ikonen tied the game with just two and a half minutes left in the period.
Platzer’s overtime hit snapped the Pelicans’ five-game winning streak. Lahti are third in the series.
JYP has won its last three matches and is in 11th place in the SM league.
