Juventus no longer knows how to win. Early Valentine’s Day turns into the first home defeat of the season. After the draw with Empoli and the knockout in the Italian derby, comes the defeat against Udinese signed by another Argentine Lautaro: Giannetti. The Lady’s crisis is open: Inter are seven points away despite having a game to recover for the Super Cup and Milan, only one point behind, are putting the pressure on. The 405 black and white benches achieved by Massimiliano Allegri could not be more bitter than this, which earned the Livornese second place in history next to Marcello Lippi and behind only Giovanni Trapattoni (596). Udinese, on the other hand, returns home with three very important points and their first championship success of 2024 which is worth 15th place in the standings, 3-plus over third-last Verona.

GIANNETTI GOAL

Allegri, without the injured Dusan Vlahovic, relaunched Federico Chiesa from the first minute paired with Arek Milik. Cioffi relies on Lorenzo Lucca, a Turin center forward making his debut at the Allianz Stadium, but the most awaited of the Friulians is the gem Lazar Samardzic, specially observed by the director Cristiano Giuntoli and also by his father Mladen, in the stands. And it was the Serbian himself who gave Udinese the advantage before the half-hour mark with a free kick from his side. Samardzic brushes it off and Lautaro Giannetti, thanks also to Alex Sandro’s involuntary assist, beats Szczesny and freezes the Allianz Stadium. Juventus’ response, up to that point almost always imprecise in the final meters and second in duels, arrived at the end of the half. Alex Sandro tries to make amends with a cross from his golden days, Milik goes for sure but finds a reactive Okoye in his way.

MILK? ACTUALLY, NO…

Juventus, slower than usual, struggled to get around the wall put up by Udinese with their maneuver. So at game time you need a dead ball and Milik’s head to find the equalizer. But the Pole’s and the entire Stadium’s celebration lasts a few seconds. Referee Abisso disallows the goal because the ball, on the corner kicked by Chiesa, had already crossed the goal line. Allegri goes all out by inserting Yildiz first in support of Chiesa and Milik. And for the final assault, after Federico’s exit, also the young Cerri. The Bianconeri’s hopes finally sank when the Turk, after an excellent movement in the area, arrived in the area a second late and was unable to deflect the ball.
