Defending champions Juventus are in the semi-finals of the Italian Football Cup. The record champions defeated US Sassuolo Calcio 2-1 (1-1) in the quarter-finals and now meets AC Fiorentina.
A deflected shot by newcomer Dusan Vlahovic (88th), which was officially counted as an own goal by Ruan, made the decision late. Paulo Dybala (3′) made the perfect start for Juve, but Hamed Junior Traore (24′) equalised.
Florence had previously advanced to the semi-finals with a 3-2 (1-1) win at Atalanta Bergamo, despite being outnumbered in the final phase after yellow-red against Lucas Martinez Quarta (79th). The other Coppa semi-finals will be played by city rivals Inter and AC Milan on March 2nd and April 20th.
