Juventus took a big hit in the transfer market on Friday. The Italian top club takes over Ángel Di María from Paris Saint-Germain and also announced the return of Paul Pogba.
Di María, 34, has signed a one-year contract with Juventus. The Argentinian is taken over from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
Di María has played for PSG since mid-2015. In seven seasons, the attacker played 295 official games for the French champions and scored 92 goals. He previously played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Benfica and Rosario Central.
In recent months, Di María has also been linked with FC Barcelona. Despite his past at Real Madrid, the 122-time international saw no problem in a possible switch to the Catalan top club, but in the end he chose Juventus.
Di María is the first summer reinforcement for Juventus. Federico Chiesa was also signed, but he was already rented from Fiorentina from the end of 2020 with a mandatory option to buy after two seasons.

Most likely, Pogba will be the next player to sign a contract with Juventus. The 29-year-old Frenchman landed in Turin on Friday and reported to the record champion of Italy.
“I’m back and I’m very happy,” Pogba said in a video posted to Juventus’ Twitter page. “I can’t wait to start and wear the Juventus shirt again.”
Pogba has already played four seasons for Juventus from the summer of 2012. The midfielder then made the switch to Manchester United for 105 million euros, where he previously completed the youth academy.
In Manchester, Pogba could never really convince in six seasons. Last season, he scored one goal in 27 games. The club of trainer Erik ten Hag decided not to extend Pogba’s expiring contract, as a result of which he now leaves for Juventus on a free transfer.
