Juventus: Paul Pogba injured again – substituted in tears

Only played 161 minutes

After his injury in the starting eleven comeback after more than a year, Paul Pogba received encouragement from fans and teammates. “You a lot of strength, you really don’t deserve that,” wrote Pogba’s French compatriot and Juventus colleague Adrien Rabiot on Instagram. Pogba was substituted after a good 20 minutes in Turin’s 2-0 win over US Cremonese in Italy’s Serie A on Sunday. He had left the pitch injured and in tears after being in a starting XI for the first time in over a year.

According to an examination on Monday, he suffered a minor lesion in his left thigh. Pogba has already started the rehabilitation program, Juventus announced.

Since the game in mid-April 2022, at that time still for Manchester United, the French world champion of 2018 has been going through a particularly difficult time. The eccentric midfielder was repeatedly thrown back by lengthy injuries. Pogba missed the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to knee surgery. Most recently, an adductor injury caused him problems. After his return, he was only on the field for 161 minutes in ten games for Juventus and missed 38 games. In the 1-1 draw in the Europa League semi-final first leg against Sevilla, Pogba had prepared the equalizer in injury time for the “old lady”.

“We’re all sorry. Paul did so much to come back, he was on the right track,” Turin coach Massimiliano Allegri told the streaming service “DAZN” after another setback. When going to the doctor on Monday, media representatives and a few fans were waiting for Pogba. “Paul, cheer up,” they called out to him.
