Even in a difficult season, Juventus Turin can hope for the next triumph in the Coppa Italia.
The defending champion and record winner won the first leg of the semifinals at Fiorentina flatteringly 1-0 (0-0) and secured a good starting position for the crucial home game on April 20th.
Juventus, who are fourth in Serie A, well below the top, have won the Italian Football Cup 14 times.
The decision only brought an own goal by Lorenzo Venuti (90 + 1) in injury time. The semi-final against the rivals from Florence is also explosive because top scorer Dusan Vlahovic changed sides just a few weeks ago: Turin signed the Serbs for 70 million euros at the end of January, Vlahovic scored reliably for the old lady.
On Wednesday, however, Fiorentina was the better team and should have taken the lead at least twice (26th/48th) through Jonathan ICO. Vlahovic only became really dangerous once (56th).
In the other semi-final, champions Inter Milan face off with German international Robin Gosens and city rivals AC, the first leg also ended 0-0 here.
