Over 500 games as Bianconeri
There are six players who have played over 500 games for Juventus, Leonardo Bonucci (36) being one of them. If the new technical director Cristiano Giuntoli has his way, Bonucci will stick to 502 games, because the veteran plays according to the record champions’ plans “sky“ no longer matter. Accordingly, Giuntoli informed the central defender of this decision: Bonucci will be put on the transfer market by the club and is no longer part of the squad that will start on the US tour in the near future.
With a reported salary of around 12 million euros gross (6.5 million euros net), Bonucci is the best-paid defender in Serie A. He signed the contract, which runs until 2024 and guarantees him this sum, at the end of 2019 – only Paul earns at Juventus Pogba, Adrien Rabiot and Dusan Vlahovic more net.

Bonucci wants to meet with coach Massimiliano Allegri in Turin on Monday to convince him to keep counting on him. The midfield trio Weston McKennie (24), Arthur Melo (26) and Denis Zakaria (26), who are also to be sold, also no longer play a role in Giuntoli’s plans. The three professionals who were loaned out last season are said to earn around 13 million euros net per season.
