Juve wins thanks to a last-minute goal

Italy’s football record champions Juventus Turin celebrated a last-second victory in their hunt for the 37th Scudetto. Coach Massimiliano Allegri’s team defeated newly promoted Frosinone Calcio 3:2 (2:2) and celebrated Daniele Rugani’s late winning goal (90+5).

Juventus remain nine points behind Inter Milan in second place. The league leaders beat US Lecce 4-0 (1-0) and also have another game in hand. Argentine world champion Lautaro Martinez (15th, 56th) scored twice.

In Turin, Dusan Vlahovic (3rd, 32nd) scored twice for Juve before the emotional finale, with former Schalke player Weston McKennie doing the preparatory work. In defense, however, the favorites acted far too carelessly: Walid Cheddira (14th) and Marco Brescianini (27th) used their freedom to turn the game around at times.

Turin dominated the action in the second half, but the winning goal only came in the last action of the game: Rugani got the ball from a tight angle after a corner and scored.
