Dinamo Kiev is in eleventh place in the league after three matches and is still active in the Europa League. Lonwijk is not yet able to do that for his new employer. He can only be registered for European competitions in January.
Viborg FF makes it clear that it has received a hefty transfer fee for Lonwijk. “We have received an offer that we consider to be extraordinary,” the club’s technical director said in a press release. He scored eight goals in sixty matches for the Danes.
Lonwijk played for FC Utrecht in the Netherlands. Before that, he went through the PSV youth academy. His younger brother Nigel is also a professional football player. He is loaned to Plymouth Argyle by Wolverhampton Wanderes.
