Justin Bieber turns 30: A pop star in transition – and in pictures

Justin Bieber has changed over the years. We took a closer look at it.

Justin Bieber first attracted attention in 2008 with self-made videos on YouTube. A little later he joined in together Usher on. Six years later, 17 of his songs are in the Billboard Top 100 at the same time – a feat that no other artist has achieved before Bieber. Not even that Beatles. At that time, his album PURPOSE was firmly at the top of the charts in more than 100 countries around the world.

In the time between My World and My World 2.0, with hits like Baby, one time or U Smile, it was away from the BelieveMovies, lots of scandals and his on-and-off relationship with Selena Gomez, at least musically, the Canadian is pretty quiet. Today, Bieber is in the spotlight primarily because of his work – as befits a musician.

In addition, the wave of great dislike towards the young artist has visibly subsided. After puberty ended, scandals were overshadowed by hits Diplo and Skrillex; Justin makes music that few people are ashamed of anymore. The hatred falls silent. But has he grown up, or have we simply always been too old?

There is of course no question that something has changed as he has gotten older. In addition to a better hand for content and production, Bieber’s clothing style is also changing. The obligatory chunky hi-top sneakers have disappeared – after all, the only suitable place for them today is the feet of suburban followers of gabber culture.

Without embarrassment, he now wears a mustache, dress-like T-shirts, Hawaiian shirts or crazy glasses – and is otherwise braver than the average nouveau riche. We only approve of this change – so good that we have taken a closer look at it in our gallery.

Here’s to you, Justin.
