Bieber is being criticized for his contradictory statements.
On Wednesday (October 11), Justin Bieber posted a picture of destroyed buildings in the Gaza Strip with the words “Praying for Israel” on his Instagram Story. The 29-year-old was directly criticized for his positioning – and deleted the post within an hour. He then shared the message again with the same wording, but this time without the image background.
Criticism of double standards
Many people in particular criticized Bieber because he had written in an earlier post that he did not want to take a position on one side: “I think it is wrong to denigrate all Palestinians or Israelis. I’m not interested in picking sides, but I am interested in standing with the families that were brutally taken from us.”
Users then commented on This is just lip service and virtue signaling.”
Others criticized Bieber for initially not wanting to take a side and then choosing Israel.
More about Israel and the supporters of the conflict
A mishap on the subject also happened to actress Jamie Lee Curtis on Monday (October 9th): she posted a picture with the caption “Terror from the skies” with an Israeli flag on Instagram – but then deleted it after followers pointed out that the picture actually showed Palestinian children from the Gaza Strip.
