On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, US pop star Justin Bieber posted a video on Instagram giving an update on his health condition. The 29-year-old was forced to cancel the rest of his world tour dates on February 1, 2023 after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. Ramsay Hunt Syndrome is a rare neurological disorder characterized by a rash affecting the face, mouth and ears and paralysis of the facial nerve.
In the video, the “Peaches” singer can be seen first looking expectantly at the camera and then in one sudden movement grinning from ear to ear – a vast improvement from June 2022, when Justin Bieber said he was suffering from a “complete… Paralysis” on one side of his face. Over the video, Bieber captioned “Wait for it” to signal to his fans that his recovery is progressing well.
After the musician made the diagnosis official in June 2022, he shared a Story in which he said to the camera, “I wanted to share a little bit about how I’m doing. Each day has gotten better and through all the inconveniences I have found solace in the one who made me and who knows me.” He added, “I am reminded that he knows all of me. He knows the darkest parts of me that I wouldn’t want anyone to know and he always takes me into his loving arms. That perspective has given me peace during this terrible storm I’m facing.”
