S.Have you ever been to Portonovo? It is a magical place, almost enchanted, but for this very reason it is delicate, fragile.
In the heart of a rocky promontory overlooking the sea, the Conerothere are beaches, with small restaurants of ancient tradition.
You only get off on foot, traffic jams are easily created: being able to fit cars, to make nature and the bulky human presence compatible, to regulate the traffic of tourists, is a feat.
Cristina Bartoli, the woman in charge of regulating the parking lots, is one of the people who make the company. People of common sense go to Portonovo by bicycle or on foot, by public transport, with a small car; not in SUV.
I have nothing against SUVs, but I am beginning to have something against, for example, those who ride SUVs in the historic centers of our cities, which are tailor-made for carriages and not for monsters with rostrums for rhino hunting.
Besides, not always, but sometimes the drivers of SUVs, feeling and being bigger, behave aggressively except with arrogance towards ordinary motorists.
Obviously that of Portonovo is a borderline, extreme case, more unique than rare: why the guy with the SUV, reprimanded because he was going at full speed in the wrong direction in the parking lot, attacked Mrs. Bartoli and incredibly he stripped her of her shirt and bra, offended, to the point of spitting on her and kicking her, apparently with the support of his wife.
There were no cameras, but the carabinieri identified him anyway. Nevertheless the culprit is incredibly at large, at least for now. Which is inconceivable: someone who puts his hands on a woman and strips her in public against her will must be in jail.
All the more so if the woman is doing work in the public interest. Including the many men who did not intervene in defense of her.
