‘Just Stop Oil’ activists throw tomato soup over Van Gogh painting in London museum | Abroad

Two young women walked into the room where the painting is exhibited around 11 a.m. They threw the contents of two cans of Heinz tomato soup over the painting, which has an estimated value of 72.5 million pounds (nearly 84 million euros), Sky News reported.

The ‘Just Stop Oil’ activist group has posted a video of the incident on social media. It is unclear whether the painting was damaged. After throwing the cans of soup, the activists glued themselves to the wall where the painting hangs.

Van Gogh painted ‘Sunflowers’ in 1888.
