Because of vandalism on the green areas, the district pulls the emergency brake and closes off the green. A comment from BZ editor Olive Ohmann.

I used to walk across the lawn too. Children do this because they want to get to the sports field quickly. How upset I was about the nagging uncles who always scolded me!
Today I stay on the paths. Because at some point I realized that the lawn would be ruined if everyone kept walking across it. Just like at Savignyplatz.
When the sun shines, the beautiful town square turns into a sunbathing area. Mostly young people and many tourists have a picnic and have a drink. Unfortunately there are bactrian camels and dirty finches. Plants were trampled on, there is a lot of rubbish lying around. The district pulled the ripcord and closed the green space.
Now I’m the whiner: it should remain closed, because at Savignyplatz you can sit on benches and look at the green. It’s for looking at, not for lounging!
