Four suspects were arrested on Thursday for the assault on Daaf (19) and a friend of his. They were beaten by a group of boys a month ago after Paaspop in Schijndel. They suffered serious facial injuries. The suspects are all 17 to 18 years old.
Daaf was going home with a friend of his and their girlfriends after a nice Easter doll weekend on April 17, when they were attacked by a group of boys. They were badly mistreated. “A lot of violence was used,” the police said. The victims filed a complaint.
Daaf’s mother told Omroep Brabant two days later. “The boys are not doing well mentally. They are having a hard time and are receiving victim help,” she said at the time.
According to her, it would also be a group of about twelve boys. “Outside the site on Leemputtenweg was a group that was out to argue and fight. The boys ignored that for as long as possible and continued on. They did nothing or gave rise to anything. But once they have it after you, then you can’t escape it anymore.”
Important anonymous tip
According to the police, Daaf’s story caused great indignation among many people about the violence committed by the group of boys. Soon many witnesses came forward. An important anonymous tip was also received.
The police investigated all information and were eventually able to arrest four suspects on Thursday morning. It concerns three suspects from Schijndel (17, 17 and 18 years) and one suspect from Berlicum (18 years). They have been detained and are being interrogated extensively.
Even more suspects
Three other suspects were also identified during the investigation. They were asked to make a statement at a later date about their possible involvement in the assault.
Police are still looking for more information and are asking anyone who knows more or has CCTV footage to come forward.
