Jussi Hakulinen was supposed to perform in his last big concert in Tampere. Condolences to the family from the promoter of the event, overcome with grief.
Newly Dead Night musician Jussi Hakulinen was supposed to perform at the last variety show of the night in Tampere in November 2022. The twice-postponed gig was supposed to be the musician’s last arena gig. At the same time, he would have released new music.
– This is my last big arena tour, so I don’t want to spoil it. There will be new music, which I want to bring in addition to the performances of the tour,” Hakulinen commented in June 2021 on the concert’s Instagram account.
The organizer and Hakulinen were hopeful, even though the 2021 tour dates were moved to February 2022.
– It’s important to me that everyone who wants to can and should come to the concert, Hakulinen added.
Due to the corona virus, the tour eventually turned into one big concert, which was supposed to be in November 2022 in Tampere after the February tour was moved. Hakulinen’s purpose was to perform his and singer Olli Lindholm’s best-known songs, as well as introduce a couple of new songs.
Concert promoter Kalle Keskinen confirms that Hakulisen had new music in the works. However, he didn’t get to hear it himself. The purpose of the autumn concert was mainly to set the mood for the Yö group’s songs, although Hakulis had new music planned.

Sorrow is the greatest
Keskinen, who collaborated with Hakulinen on the concert, emphasizes that the concert in question is currently the least of his sorrows. He heard about Hakulinen’s passing in the afternoon, which came as a complete surprise to him.
– I don’t know what to say, have a good trip to heaven, Jussi. The smallest trouble now is the Yö variety concert.
Keskinen emphasizes that the biggest and most important thing in the situation is the grief work of the relatives. Next to it, nothing is as tragic or great.
– Deep condolences to the relatives. My condolences to the family and Jussi. The sadness is greater elsewhere.
The promoter had time to cooperate with Hakulinen around the concert. According to him, the musician was one of the best rockers he knows. Keskinen also admired Hakulist as a composer and lyricist.
– It was nice to do a project together. It’s a shame that we didn’t manage to finish the joint project. It was nice to do together. However, it is a small thing compared to this. Condolences to loved ones and relatives.
