Jussi Meresmaa had a hard time last year.
Frisbee golf influencer Jussi Meresmaa, 45, earned 836,700 euros last year, according to recent tax data. The man reported 607,800 euros in earned income and 228,900 in capital income.
Meresmaa is one of Finland’s most successful frisbee golfers and the founder of the frisbee golf company Discmania. He sold his company this year to the House of Discs company.
Meresmaa said after the sale For Kauppalehtithat Discmania’s operations continue as normal, even though the underlying ownership has changed.
Discmania’s parent company is Spin18 Oy, which manufactures and sells frisbee golf discs. The same company has also become known for the DiscGolfPark track concept.
– The main part of Discmania’s turnover comes from the sale of frisbee golf discs. About 15 percent of the turnover comes from the development and construction of the fields, Kauppalehti’s article says.
In the field business, Discmania and DiscGolfPark are number one in the world. Over the course of 15 years, the company has delivered nearly 1,000 pitches to different parts of the world.

Other entrepreneurs too
Also Seppo Paju, another Finnish frisbee golf hero, earned quite nicely last year: 94,500 euros. Paju received earned income of 57,200 euros and capital income of 37,300.
Paju turns 29 on Thursday, November 9. He announced last year that he was ending his competitive career in frisbee golf, but the man still has an influence in frisbee golf circles.
Already in 2014, Paju founded the Prodigy Disc Europe company with his siblings, which works, among other things, with import and track design.
Other famous frisbee golf names Henna Blomroos earned 52,400 euros last year, Niklas Anttila 46,500 euros and Väinö Mäkelä 11,200 euros.
However, Mäkelä has its own company Väinö Mäkelä oy, whose turnover in the last financial period (October 25, 2021–December 31, 2022) was 167,000 euros, and the profit after taxes was 59,000 euros.
