‘I should have waited for the finish photo’
FELT – In the finish zone of the Amstel Gold Race it was for the second year in a row a bizarre mixture of drama and outbursts of joy. Frenchman Benoît Cosnefroy cried out with happiness after he thought he had crossed the line first. A wrong observation turned out to be a little later, when after studying the finish photo Michal Kwiatkowski was declared the winner. The jury blunder continued to reverberate for a long time, although Ineos Grenadiers had his revenge.
