A big downer for Jurre Geluk: the talent of BNNVARA has been declared the worst presenter of the year. “He should have a rebellious image, but we should especially gape at him.”
For the fourth time, a day before the prestigious Gouden Televizier-Ring Gala, the winners of the so-called TV Knollen, the prizes for the worst TV performances of the year, were announced. The two jury members, RTL Boulevard star Rob Goossens and Speakbuis publisher Richard Otto, have proclaimed Jurre Geluk as the worst presenter.
Jurre butchered
After his adventure at Spuiten & Slikken, Jurre was given a lot of opportunities at BNNVARA, but the gentlemen are not convinced. “Supposedly exciting television such as Sting & Prikken and De Nationale Kaktest should give Jurre Geluk a rebellious image, but we must especially gawk at him.”
The judges continued: “It is telling that his most notable TV performance of the year was a muddled monologue about the alleged taboo on fat pets in Khalid & Sophie. Also clever: That You Will But Have It seems to bleed to death in his hands. Wasn’t that always an important program for BNNVARA?”
Sander wins too
Another ‘winner’ is Sander Lantinga. His off-screen quiz Vier Is Te Veel was awarded the TV Knol for worst program of the year. “It is a bad year for Sander Lantinga. Radio 538 also played Twee Is Te Veel by separating him from his regular buddy Coen Swijnenberg after 16 years.”
The jury members: “But Four Is Too Much was a low point for the entire television country. When it went off the tube, the viewer was so relieved that even a repeat of Het Roer Om scored twice as well a week later.”
VTBL as blunder
The third prize, for biggest TV blunder, goes to VTBL. “After Veronica Inside stopped at the beginning of this year, it was very logical that RTL investigated the possibilities of a new football program. But if you think that you can just put four men at a table with the audience a kilometer away, then you underestimate the viewer enormously.”
“VTBL is now the only program ever that has died ingloriously twice, because that had already happened once under the leadership of Humberto Tan.”
