Jurre, who is taught at De Twijn, a school for special education in Zwolle, has a chronic illness and is on a ventilator at night. He and his family previously participated in one of the Opkikkerdagen, which are held annually in the De Eemhof recreation center of Center Parcs near Nijkerk. Every year around two thousand families with a sick child are received there for a relaxing day full of adventure. Jurre remembers walking around in a knight’s suit that day, making a helicopter flight and sitting on a sleigh pulled by sled dogs.
