Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp is convinced that star striker Mohamed Salah will continue to play for the Reds in the future.
He is confident that the 29-year-old, who will be tied to the club until the summer of 2023, will sign a new contract and have a career as long as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. “I know that Mo wants to stay. We want Mo to stay,” said Klopp. “That’s the state.”
Negotiations on a contract extension between the two-time Premier League goalscorer Salah, who is currently taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, and Liverpool FC have already started, but an agreement has not yet been reached.
In a recent interview with “GQ” magazine, Salah said that he “doesn’t ask for crazy things,” just recognition for what has been achieved.
“These things take time,” stressed Klopp now. “There are enough reasons to be confident. But as long as it is not fixed, we cannot say anything about it. But: good conversations, I can say that.”
