Liverpool FC won the Carabao Cup on Sunday and Jürgen Klopp was very happy. There was bad news early in the game.
The list of failures at Liverpool FC is getting longer and longer. With stars like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai, coach Jürgen Klopp is currently missing important players in all parts of the team. Now Ryan Gravenberch is joining us.
The Dutch midfielder and former FC Bayern player had to be carried off the pitch after just under half an hour in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday. Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo caught Gravenberch with an open sole on his left ankle. It was then over for the Liverpool FC player.
Klopp raged on the touchline, demanding a red card for Caicedo. But the Chelsea FC player didn’t even see coach Christopher Kavanagh’s yellow card. Gravenberch was replaced by Joe Gomez.
At least the injured player was able to celebrate at the end of the game – on crutches. Virgil van Dijk scored the winning goal for Liverpool FC shortly before the end of extra time, giving coach Jürgen Klopp at least one title in his last season as coach of the “Reds”.
