Jürgen Klinsmann took over the job as national coach in South Korea just a year ago. Now his end is already sealed.
Jürgen Klinsmann was fired as South Korea national coach. “The Korean Times” and the Yonhap news agency report this unanimously. Accordingly, the Korean Football Association (KFA) has already informed Klinsmann that he is leaving.
There is said to be a two and a half hour meeting between the German and association president Chung Mong-gyu and other senior executives.
Jürgen Klinsmann also posted a photo of the players on Instagram on Friday morning and wrote: “To all players, my coaching team and all Korean football fans with sincere gratitude! Thank you for all your support that got us to the semi-finals of the Asian Cup and a incredible journey over the last 12 months without losing 13 games in a row before the semi-finals.”
