Nogueras has initially charged against Feijóo and the PP, defining it as an “anti-Catalan” party, opposed to self-government and the progress of Catalonia and an ally of Vox, as well as “opposed to improving people’s rights.”

The Junts spokesperson in Congress, Miriam Noguerashas taken advantage of his intervention at the investiture session of the PP candidate, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to put pressure on the PSOE regarding the possible investiture of Pedro Sanchez. Nogueras has used almost all of his time to reproduce the conditions for the PSOE expressed by Puigdemont in a recent conference. The deputy, however, has highlighted the idea of ”recognition” of the Catalan identity, the existence of mediation for the eventual negotiation of the legislature and the advancement of two folders, that of self-determination and that of self-government. But she has avoided setting deadlines for the amnesty law, an issue on which she has not elaborated.

No to the PP, for being “anti-Catalan”

Nogueras has initially charged against Feijóo and the PP, defining it as an “anti-Catalan” party, opposed to self-government and the progress of Catalonia and an ally of Vox, as well as “opposed to improving people’s rights.” And he ratified the vote against the popular candidate and “Aznar, Rajoy, the Felipes -Gonzàlez and Felipe VI-, Guerra and all the zombies of the transition who go hunting every time they believe that their homeland is in danger.”

But the JxCat spokesperson focused on the PSOE in view of the investiture negotiations with Sánchez once Feijóo’s investiture fails. And she warned, as Puigdemont did in Brussels, that the key is the recognition of Catalonia and that the difficulty of the negotiation is “the enormous difficulty of getting a negotiation back on track in weeks that has been forgotten to consider necessary for six years.” “Today the conditions do not exist,” Nogueras stressed, constantly paraphrasing Puigdemont.

“Amnesty will not solve the problem”

And the key to the representative’s message is that “with this [la mejora del autogobierno] and the amnesty will not solve the underlying problem either, there is no regional recipe to solve the problems“. For this reason, Nogueras placed the emphasis on the “national recognition of Catalonia and its right to self-determination, making the decision of the 1-O referendum to convert Catalonia into an independent State in the form of a republic a reality and only an agreed referendum could replace the mandate of 1-O”.

Nogueras has stressed that in the eventual negotiation – with mediation between both parties, he recalled – it must advance in two areas in parallel: that of self-determination and that of improving self-government. “The conditions of Junts have not changed, they are public and the same for everyone, we will see if anyone is willing to accept them and comply with them“, concluded Nogueras, in a speech entirely in Catalan by virtue of the change in the Congress regulations to allow the use of Galician, Basque and Catalan.

Feijóo’s response

Feijóo has attacked Junts and CKD due to its electoral decline. And for what she described as a “cacicada” for agreeing to have a parliamentary group thanks to the PSOE. The PP candidate has criticized Together in contrast to the old Convergència and Unió and has demanded that Nogueras not classify the PP as “anti-Catalonia” because it is a lack of respect for PP voters in Catalonia. He has also taken the opportunity to charge against Pedro Sánchez after listening to the ERC speech and Together because either he or these parties “lie” to the House. “Today we have seen once again why Mr. Sánchez did not want to speak,” he added. From there, he has raised the discourse of “real Catalonia” and the “problems” of Catalans in the face of independence theses.
