Designed not only for fashion enthusiasts, “JUNK – full closets” was born with the aim of putting the spotlight on the less glossy background of the fashion system, revealing the impact that this sector has on the environment and people. With the participation of Matteo War, written and directed by Olmo Parenti and Matteo Keffer of A Thing By, visible on the Sky Italia YouTube channel, on demand on Sky and on NOW, is the educational content to watch this month.

Accompanied by an exceptional guide, the green activist and designer Matthew Wardin the six episodes of “JUNK full closets” the damages that fast fashion and the compulsive purchase of clothing cause in the world are shown. And how these shares have a strong impact also on people, on communities and of course on the environment. Mountains of indistinguishable waste, overcrowded markets, trucks loaded with clothes from the West: the protagonists of this journey beyond the catwalks.

A trip around the world, which returns to Italy

Six episodes that tell as many stage traveled by JUNK on this complaint trip. In the first two episodes, for example, the theme of wasteamong the data that emerged: in Accra, the capital of Ghanaevery week they arrive 15 million clothes to be disposed of. It then flies in Indonesia, where the overproduction of artificial fibers is destroying the country’s biodiversity. And then Bangladesh, India and also Italy.

What will be the future…

The vision of this docuseries so direct and realistic leads to an immediate reflection: is all lost? Fortunately no. Each bet always ends with a concrete example of hope, designed to motivate the public to take charge of the environmental future of our planet.
