June started warmer than ever, with temperatures rising above 1.5 degrees

The global temperature rose to the highest level on record for this time of year in early June. In the first eleven days of the month, the average temperature on earth was more than 1.5 degrees warmer than before the industrial era, reports the European climate service Copernicus. That had never happened before in June. Since 2015, the limit of 1.5 degrees has been exceeded several times in other months.
