Alou Kuol from VfB Stuttgart is Goalscorer of the Month June 2022. His spectacular scorpion kick in the Australian U23 game against Iraq received the most votes from the Sportschau viewers.
Once again, the legendary Skorpion-Kick thrilled the viewers of the sports show. After former Mönchengladbacher Valentino Lazaro scored Goal of the Year 2020 with his spectacular goal against Bayer Leverkusen, Kuol can now look forward to being named Goalscorer of the Month in June 2022.
In the Asian Cup game against Iraq’s U23s, the 21-year-old intuitively let himself fall forward from a hard-pressed cross from his opponent and, to everyone’s astonishment, kicked the ball past the puzzled goalkeeper with his heel and outstretched leg meshes. The goal in added time in the first half was not enough for the Australian team to win, the game ended 1-1.

Kuol got around 41 percent of the votes. Klara Bühl came in second with her goal for the German women’s national soccer team (36.7 percent). Third in the vote was Julian Rufidis from TSV Havelse (8.9 percent) ahead of Marius Gedratis (SC 07 Idar-Oberstein) and Julian Scharfenberger (FV 1920 Dudenhofen).
